As boys in Year 10 start to think about their GCSE choices, they were welcomed to the Business Studies department for “Project Business”. This event was facilitated by Young Enterprise and gave boys an insight into some of the topics they might study if they pick GCSE Business Studies. Each group established their own bracelet making business and had to think about their company name and their marketing mix as well as their manufacturing process. They were given money by our guest investors, Alan and Alison, which they needed to invest in raw materials and then they needed to pitch and sell their finished goods to the retailers who were all Sixth Form Business Studies students – they were tough negotiators! It was a very enjoyable event and hopefully Year 10 now have a greater understanding of what they might cover in GCSE Business Studies. Thanks to Ryan and Vivienne from Young Enterprise and their guests Alan and Alison as well as our Sixth Form students who all played their part in a successful event.
