Curriculum

RBAI Curriculum

The curriculum at RBAI is specifically crafted to lead pupils through from the beginning of Year 8 to the start of university life or the first steps of a career.

Our teachers are passionate about education and seek to instil a love of learning and nurture natural curiosities. As such, RBAI is committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching and learning so that every pupil can fulfil their potential. This includes a strong emphasis on the acquisition of subject-specific knowledge in each of the areas of learning. The curriculum is also meticulously designed to encourage the development of skills, personal capabilities, positive dispositions and the ability to think both critically and creatively. This helps to prepare our young people for employment in the modern workplace so that they can make a valuable contribution to the economy and society.

Collaboration

RBAI is a member of the North Belfast Area Learning Community (NBALC), made up of 11 post primary schools, and Belfast Metropolitan College (BMC). We work in partnership to implement a curriculum that will better meet the needs of pupils, offering access to a wider choice of academic, applied and vocational courses – boosting our own 28 subjects at GCSE level and the same in the Sixth Form. For example, we collaborate with BMC in the delivery of the BTEC National Extended Certificate in Engineering, equivalent to one ‘A’ level.
