Teaching and Learning:
KS3 –
Year 10 – In Year 10, pupils begin to study the Personal Development module of the GCSE LLW course. This includes the topics ‘Personal Health and Well-Being’, ‘Emotions and Reaction to Life Experiences’, ‘Relationships and Sexuality’, ‘Personal Safety and Well-Being’, ‘Responsible Parenting’ and ‘Making Informed Financial Decisions’.
KS4 –
The CCEA GCSE in Learning for Life and Work engages students in exploring social, personal, economic and employment issues. Topics include diversity and inclusion, causes of conflict, human rights, social responsibility, job interview preparation and entrepreneurship. Students deepen their understanding of the connections between local, national and global issues.
With this qualification, students can progress to study subjects such as Business Studies, Health and Social Care, and Economics. This GCSE also provides a good foundation for careers in business, finance, marketing, human resources and research.
