Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants
Since its foundation by philanthropists in 1810, Inst has moulded men who have made their mark on the city of Belfast and beyond, forging successful careers across a range of sectors. Our pupils are often reminded that they stand on the shoulders of giants.
Working closely with the Belfast Old Instonians Association, the RBAI Foundation was established in 2013 with three very distinct objectives;
- To actively engage alumni in the life of the School.
- To raise funds to support the development of the School.
- To be the hub for communications with past pupils and friends of the School.
The RBAI Foundation is in contact with over 7,500 alumni around the world, through social media, e-news updates and a range of business and alumni events. News about RBAI, our alumni and events can be found here:

RBAI is constantly evolving, and the support of alumni has helped to transform our campus through the Excellence For All campaign.
Between 2018 - 2021, £2.8m was pledged by parents and the Instonian community in support the largest capital development programme in the history of the School.
