RBAI offers a broad, balanced and innovative curriculum at all Key Stages. We are also committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching and learning in a caring environment so that every boy can fulfil his potential. This includes a strong emphasis on the acquisition of subject-specific knowledge. There is also an explicit importance given to the development of skills and capabilities for life-long learning and for contributing effectively to the economy and society. The curriculum aims to empower young people so that they can make informed and responsible choices and decisions throughout their lives. The ability to think both critically and creatively, and to develop inter-personal skills and positive dispositions, is essential for employment in an increasingly competitive and globalised economy. An annual curriculum review is undertaken to ensure that our offer to pupils is continuing to evolve
Further details of the curriculum we offer at each Key Stage can be found from following the appropriate Curriculum Pathway option on the drop-down menu.
Each day consists of nine 35 minute periods. Many classes, especially at Key Stage 4 and in the Sixth Form, are double periods. The structure of the school day at RBAI is shown below.
