In the first cricket match of the season the 1stXI travelled to Foyle and Londonderry College on Saturday 11th April. Scores were as follows:

RBAI 189 for 5 off 25 overs (Matthew Lightbody 112 Not Out, Patrick Dologhan 48)

Foyle 183 for 4 (Chris Robinson 2 for 15)

RBAI won by 6 runs

Many congratulations to the team on a first victory of the season and in particular Matthew Lightbody on scoring a century in his first match for the 1st XI.

Cricket Results: 1st XI Through to Schools Cup Final!

Many congratulations to the school 1st XI who are through to the final of the Ulster Bank Schools Cup final and will play either Limavady Grammar School or Foyle College for the trophy.

They clinched the final place with a 54 run win over Down High School on Friday evening. RBAI posted 151 and restricted Down to 97 for 9 in their 30 overs.

Cricket Results: RBAI Win the McCullough Cup!

 

In the final of the McCullough Cup the school faced Foyle and L' Derry College at all age groups. The U13's, U14's, U15's and 2nd XI all had comfortable wins, with the 1st XI and U12 XI loosing. The school therefore won this final overall 16 points to 8.

Many congratulations to all the school cricketers on this fantastic achievement!

1st XI through to Cricket Schools Cup semi-final!

Many congratulations to the school 1st XI on reaching the semi-final of the Ulster Schools’ Cup after an excellent win away to Strabane Academy. Batting first the Inst top 3 all made significant contributions, including 43 from Ben McGavock and 31 from James McCabe. Lewis McNamara also scored 40, despite coming in with only 6 overs left in the innings! His performance included a remarkable 28 off 1 over, which included four sixies and one four!

James Magee produced an outstanding opening spell of bowling, gaining key wickets and ending up with outstanding figures off 4 for 23 in a 6 over spell.
