Biologists raise money for Concern Worldwide


On February 21st, 2018, fundraiser Kobi Johnston (Year 9) presented a cheque for £1,557 to Mr Eoin Duffy, Community Fundraising Executive with Concern Worldwide Northern Ireland. The money was raised by 26 biologists and other pupils who fasted for 24 hours on or around November 23rd, 2017. Pirrie House also made a donation. Eoin spoke to the school assembly to explain how this donation would be used to save lives in impoverished countries like Burundi where starvation and malnutrition are rife. Concern work on the ground to provide emergency food, seeds, farming equipment, animals, etc so that families can survive and become self-sustaining.
