Rugby Players Ireland, in partnership with Zurich, are launching a new “Tackle Your Feelings” App as part of their ongoing mental wellbeing campaign. The aim is to break down stigma and inspire more people to become proactive in looking after their mental wellbeing. RBAI has been chosen to represent the TYF programme and we are delighted to raise awareness of this important campaign. TYF compliments the work already being done in school through our own PERMA and Wellbeing initiatives.
Créde Sheehy-Kelly joined our assembly and gave an excellent address to our pupils which included a short video of our Ulster rugby stars discussing their mental health. Later she was joined by her colleague Christina Mahon and jointly they delivered a TYF workshop to our pupils. The workshop included video clips, a few messages to think about and most importantly lots of discussion. I know the players learned a lot from the workshop and they particularly enjoyed the demonstration using AJ and Max to highlight the power of the brain.
You will notice our 1st XV players wearing their new TYF training tops throughout this Schools’ Cup campaign and you can get involved and help raise awareness by buying a tea or coffee in our TYF cups. For more information, please visit www.tackleyourfeelings.com, download the app or lift a leaflet when buy your next beverage from Osborne or Bladon.
