RBAI Scholarship Programme Re-opens

The Principal with some of last year’s recipients

The Principal today announced that six Scholarships and seven Exhibitions will be on offer for 1-2 years to our most talented academics, sportsmen and performing artists.

Whilst the specific amount varies between awards, all scholars will receive a contribution towards their fees, accompanied by a cash award to enable to them to develop in their discipline. Those in receipt of exhibitions will receive a cash award of up to £500 towards their development.

One of the Scholarships on offer is the Stephen Martin Elite Sports Scholarship. Steve (Inchmarlo 1974-81 & RBAI 1981-88), CEO of M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment explained the thinking behind the award: “The School outlined their desire to foster talent and inspire younger pupils to pursue excellence. This really resonated with me, because it was the combination of my passion for sport, along with the support and encouragement of my teachers which gave me the confidence to pursue my career."

Michael Lowry, previous winner of the Stephen Martin Elite Sports Scholarship award is a triple Schools’ Cup winner, who recently joined the Ulster Rugby Academy after completing his A’levels.

Pupils interested in applying can download and complete an application form, which must be returned to the school office by 4pm on Wednesday 11th October 2017, with exception of the Dr Ben Wilson Scholarship for Economics and Business Studies. Applications for this scholarship will be received up to 4pm on Thursday 12th October. Any applications after this time cannot be considered.
