Ulster Rugby Academy Selection

A huge congratulations to our current captain Michael Lowry and vice-captain James Hume on their selection into the Ulster Academy. This is a great achievement and fully deserving of two of the most outstanding players in Irish Schools rugby this season who are only recently back from playing for Ireland under 19. It has been quite a journey for the boys who have played next to each other at out-half and centre for the past seven years. Fittingly playing on the inside of them is scrum half Rhys O’Donnell who has been selected into the Ulster Sub Academy which is a stepping stone to a full Academy place. Hopefully with a big first season of senior rugby Rhys will make the move up.

Michael and James were also nominated for Ulster Schools’ Player of the Year. Michael took the honours on this occasion but to have two of the three nominees from RBAI is a great achievement.

After seven years in black and yellow together let’s hope it won’t be long before we see these young men running out at Kingspan on a Friday night side by side.
