Current pupil Angus Harley and past pupil Omar Helmy, on Wednesday 14 December 2016, at Parliament Buildings, Stormont, received recognition as two of Northern Ireland’s highest achieving learners. The Celebrating Excellence GCE Award Ceremony was in honour of “Students who have proven themselves to be at the highest levels of performance in their chosen subjects. They demonstrated the highest level of diligence, commitment and skill that has been unequalled by their peers”; Mr Justin Edwards, Chief Executive, CCEA.
The teachers and pupils of RBAI are very proud of Angus and Omar.
Angus Harley achieved the highest mark in A2 Mathematics, whilst a pupil in the Lower Sixth. He is currently studying Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
Omar Helmy achieved two awards in recognition of the highest marks in Chemistry and Biology at A2 Level. He is currently reading Medicine at Jesus College, Cambridge. Omar has also been awarded the Hans Sloane Medal for outstanding examination results across all three sciences, including Physics.
Angus and Omar are an inspiration and follow in the footsteps of previous RBAI pupils who achieved the highest marks both at GCSE and A2 examinations.
