RBAI’s Year 8 pupils have once again supported Belfast Central Mission’s “Giving Tree appeal”. Over the last few weeks, boys have donated gifts to be distributed to others boys their age throughout Belfast. On Wednesday 14th December, four Year 8 boys accompanied by two of the Mentors plus Mr Hamilton and Miss Reid, delivered the presents to BCM in Glengall Street, where they were received with much appreciation. Pictured are Year 8 pupils Rhys Madden, Ben Rose, Finlay McCracken and Ben Connolly who all helped with the appeal.

Tony Monaghan is the Educational Liaison Officer for Bombardier Aerospace in Belfast.
In October 2011, he visited the school with two recent graduates to talk to boys in Year 14 about careers in Aerospace, and what it was like to work as an engineer. The week after this, the same boys were invited to have a tour of the Bombardier site at Queens Island. They were able to see first hand how the processes we learn about in school, such as CADCAM, riveting and testing materials, are applied in industry.
On Wednesday 23rd November, 14 members of RBAI’s Young Enterprise company “Black & Yellow” attended the Young Enterprise Masterclass. The Year 13 pupils were challenged to work with other budding entrepreneurs in designing a new APP. This involved putting together a business plan, a company logo & slogan, as well as a “tweet” to advertise the APP.
