Junior Prize Day

image2thumbRecently the Junior School celebrated their annual prize day.  A musical medley by our choir, orchestra and band ensured that the afternoon started on a high note. We were delighted to have former Instonian, his Honour, Tom Burgess, LLB, Immediate Past Recorder of the City of Belfast (RBAI 1954-1961) as our guest speaker.  The chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr C D Gowdy, Senior Management Team, Teachers and Parents were all there to celebrate the achievements of our junior school pupils. Congratulations to all those boys who received prizes.

Cory Shen in Concert at The Great Hall Royal Courts of Justice, NI

DSC 8552thumbThe Bar Music and Drama Society of the Royal Courts of Justice hosted Cory Shen and pupils of RBAI in concert on Saturday 10th November 2012. Cory Shen is currently in Upper Sixth and is recognised as a most promising concert pianist with an extensive and impressive repertoire. He won first prize at the Rose of Sharon Cup at the South Korean and China International Competition in 2005. He performed at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast in April 2010 and was invited by the BBC to play at Armagh Cathedral for a Radio Ulster recording in February 2012.

Inst Rugby 1872-2012 Is Launched!

History of Rugby Launch thumbMr Haslett, previous Master in Charge of Rugby and Head of Geography, last night took centre stage as his book on the history of rugby within the school was launched. Many famous alumni, friends of the school and current pupils were present to see Mr Haslett interviewed by old boy and BBC presenter, Jim Neilly.
